I Just Wanna…

by Sara on May 15, 2013

…About almond milk Frappuccinos. And muffins. And other miscellaneous things.

But we’ll get to those in a sec. :)

Happy Wednesday! How are ya doing? I’m feeling a bit…frazzled. The combination of work deadlines, loooong hours of NASM studying, and excitement about the upcoming weekend ahead (Blend Retreat in Park City!), means my ADD is buzzing today.

So, instead of trying to piece things together in what would undoubtedly be a painfully incoherent post, let’s do this in bullet form!

1. As I was reading your comments about favorite brunch foods Monday, I had an epiphany: the reason I love breakfast so much is because it’s the only time of day when it’s socially acceptable to make an entire meal out of dessert. Crepes! Pancakes! French Toast! Donuts!  SUGAR. Think about it. You never see sweet foods on lunch and dinner menus at restaurants. Never. It’s all savory stuff. And even if you do eat homemade pancakes for dinner, you probably still say you’re eating “brinner”—breakfast for dinner.  Just some food for thought. (Pun totally intended).

2. Speaking of puns, this chart that Janetha posted a few weeks ago gave me a good laugh.

Har har har. 😉

3. But wait, I’m not finished talking about breakfast! I spotted these Baked French Toast Muffins on Pinterest the other day, and almost fell out of my chair.

Swoon! Perfect for those indecisive mornings when you can’t decide what you want to eat (and indecisive mornings are a-plenty over here!). French toast or muffins? Muffins or French toast? Answer: have both! I’m going to try making them with gluten free bread.

4. Or, I won’t.  So, I was looking at my Pinterest recipe boards the other day, and realized that I’ve pinned 100+ recipes. Wanna guess how many I’ve made? Four. It made me wonder: does Pinterest really inspire us to action (aka: tackling DIY projects, making fancy meals, dressing like a fashionistas, cranking out 100 push-ups etc.), or does it just make us feel hopelessly inadequate and wish for things we’ll never have?

I’m leaning toward the latter. 😉

5. I will never feel inadequate when it comes to my chocolate consumption, though. Look who got lucky at the drug store yesterday.

You better believe I bought 10.

6. But seriously, as much as I love sweets, I can’t stand sweet toothpaste. That’s why I use this stuff.

Kidding! Could you imagine? Blech! I could get on board with a sweet and salty toothpaste. Maybe. But salt? Nothankyouverymuch. I’ll stick with my  Spearmint Tom’s.

7. While I was window window shopping the other day, I noticed that practically every store is selling pastel pants.

PicMonkey Collage

Looove. The problem with almost-as-light-as-my-skin pants is that I never fail to get them dirty. And let’s not even talk about WHITE pants. I’ll wear them, but only if I have a Tide-to-Go pen on me because otherwise they’ll be splattered with coffee (as well as a billion other things), by the end of the day.

8. Speaking of coffee, yesterday I swung by Starbucks for my first Frappuccino of the year. I completely missed out on the two week half-off happy hour promotion, but I’m not losing sleep over it because no happy hour means shorter lines, and shorter lines means the baristas will make a Frap with...almond milk. (!!!) Starbucks  doesn’t carry almond milk in their stores (they SHOULD, though!), and I don’t typically carry almond milk with me (although I have been known to carry strange things in my bag), but I was on my way home from the grocery store (almond milk in tow), and figured I’d give it a shot.

Ask, and you shall receive! That almond milk decaf Mocha Light Frappuccino was possibly the best I’ve ever had.

9. I’m pretty sure the barista made my drink with regular coffee, though, because I was ON FIRE at the gym a few hours later. I’m talking major buzz.

Hanging on the incline bench. Hello, man-in-motion photo bomber.

I guess the espresso shots were for the best, though, because that extra caffeine boost powered me through a great chest and abs workout.

Incline Barbell Chest Press 15 x 2, 10 x 2

Flat Dumbbell Chest Press 12 x 2, 8 x 2

Incline Dumbbell Flyes 15 x 3

(superset with):

Push-ups 1 min x 3 (<—killer!)

Flye Machine 8 x 3

Cable Crunches 20 x 3

Hanging Leg Raises 15 x 3

10. I occasionally like to use those pretty, sparkly lotions because I will forever be a 7th grade girl. Let’s talk about this Pacifica Coconut Crushed Pearl Body Butter.

I sampled it at Whole Foods last weekend and fell in love with the vanilla-coconut frosting-like scent. Then I saw the $25 price tag and nearly toppled over. UM WHAT. Call me crazy, but if I am paying $25 for lotion it better give me shimmery legs like Carrie Underwood. And a lot more.

11. On that note, I  recently did make a ‘call me crazy’ beauty purchase.

Confession time: I like to be tan. I used to go to tanning beds nearly every week in college, and now live in fear about the repercutions. To add insult to injury, my dad’s a dermatologist, so I can’t pretend I didn’t know better. Self tanners have always seemed like a good alternative, but every single one I’ve tried has left me looking like an orange monster. However, last week, per the recommendation of Amanda, I invested (yes, this invested–this stuff is pricey, but much cheaper than cancer treatment), in a bottle of St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzer. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m crossing my fingers!

11. Umm, has anyone spotted these on grocery store shelves?!

I don’t know if I should be excited or sad! I wish they were gluten free…and hydrogenated oil free…and lots of other things free. It’s been over 15 years since I’ve had a Pop Tart, but I sure loved them when I was little.

12. In the meantime, I’ll continue eating peanut butter and jam toast.

I’ve made this exact meal three times over the past two days. Two sunny-side-up eggs + avocado toast + peanut butter and melted raspberry toast = sweet, salty, savory, crunchy, creamy extravaganza. :)

13. Speaking of extravaganzas, I have a suitcase packing extravaganza ahead of me today! I’m flying to Salt Lake City tomorrow, where I’ll be meeting up with my gal pal, Meg, for a little pre-Blend Retreat play. To say I’m excited would be a major understatement. :)

I’ll be pretty busy while I’m there, so I may take a blogging break until next Monday—but we’ll see. I’ll definitely be Instagramming, though, and would love it if you’d say hello!

I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday, loves! Enjoy the rest of your week!

I want to know…

Pinterest users: How many of the things you pin do you actually make/wear/do?

Please tell me I’m not the only underachiever…

What type of toothpaste do you use? Minty? Fruity? Salty? Brand?

I grew up using Crest, then switched to Colgate, and now use Tom’s.

What’s your favorite lotion scent?

Vanilla and coconut!

Tan: yay or nay? Have you ever used tanning beds? Do you have a favorite self tanner?

Pastel and white pants: yay or nay?

I’ve never had an almond milk frap but I totally want one now, it looks delicious and super creamy.
Those puns had me laughing so hard, I had to write a pun for each article I wrote so I developed quote an arsenal of them ;).
On sale chocolate has to be one of the best things on this planet. I cannot contain myself when there is some on offer!
I don’t use Pintrest because I know I’d get way, way, way too addicted. I’m bad enough with blogging, Facebook and Twitter!
That lotion sounds incredible, I think I could just bath in it every day! I love vanilla as a scent too, so comforting :)
I used a tanning bed once as I had scarring on my legs and the doctor prescribed me a course of sessions (yes, really!). I absolutely hated the experience and it couldn’t go quick enough, so I never went back.
I’m a messy person so there’s no way I could pull of pastel or white pants 😉

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Wow, I can’t believe your doctor prescribed tanning bed “therapy!” As far as Pinterest goes–I highly recommend you stay away! It’s addicting. 😉 Happy Wednesday, Claire! <3

  • http://twitter.com/FitSwissChick Lucie Pfaendler

I still can not handle the fact that you guys have a Lindt flavor in the supermarket which we can not get here (White Coconut) – I mean, PLEASE?!! This is NOT fair! :-) but of course I am happy for YOU to enjoy it, enjoy a bite for me too, please!
I just got into Pinterest, I think I have 3 followers and about 5 pins :-) We’ll see how that develops!
I use an organic mint toothpaste. I read enough articles about all the crab ingredients in Colgate&Co., so I immediately switched.
So jealous on the blend weekend – have a BLAST!!!
    Love you, hugs from Switzerland!

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

You won’t believe it, but I haven’t tried the White Coconut Lindt bar! I KNOW. I think that needs to change, if only to report back to you! Are there any bars you’d like to try? I totally think we should do a chocolate swap! Deal? I’m serious! I’ll send you anything you want from the US! <3 Happy Wednesday, my dear! xoxoxo

  • Khushboo

Hahah I love posts like these which are all over the place…SO much to comment on!! Okay an almond milk frap sounds pretty damn bomb diggity- YUM! I guess the moral of the story is: no harm in asking…and Starbucks baristas are awesome. And omg you lucked out with the Lindt- jealous! I have to pay imported prices over here to top up my stash which hurts the pocket but it’s a necessity…can’t risk running out! I am intrigued yet grossed out about Strawberry-flavored Lindt..what do you think?

For toothpaste, I’m a Colgate minty girl all the way..and I’m very specific with sticking with Colgate, even if it means carrying a tube on holiday! I once accidentally bought the salty kind and it was terrible…gosh just thinking about it makes me cringe! It went in the bin after one use! I rather meet my sodium intake through food, thank you very much ;)!

    Have a great Wednedsay, Sara!

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Yes, definitely—it never hurts to ask! I think it’s only a matter of time before Starbucks starts carrying almond milk, though. Many other cafes are offering it, and considering the number of soy and dairy allergies these days, they’d be silly not to!

As for the strawberry chocolate: blech! I actually don’t like any fruit in chocolate, so I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be my jam. 😉

      Happy Wednesday, Khushboo! <3

  • http://www.sweatlikeapig.com/ Tara @ Sweat like a Pig

I have so many things to comment on – I may forget them all! I’ve never made any recipes from Pinterest… but I let myself off considering I’m still a fairly new user 😉

I’m surprised that Lindt chocolate is that expensive in the US! They do deals here with 2 for £2, and typically everything is a little more expensive in the UK. As if I needed another reason to love it more! And I am the girl who literally buys 10 blocks at a time… I rarely go to the big supermarkets but it’s the only thing I have to stock up on when I go!

My boss has been using this all-natural toothpaste made with cloves… He forced me to try some and it tasted like Vicks Vapor Rub! I’ll take my artificially sweetened toothpaste, thank you very much!

I am dying to buy a pair of pastel pants. Maybe when I lose a little more fat because I don’t need to draw any more attention to my ever-growing butt!

Let me know how you like the St Tropez tan. My go-to fake tanner is Garnier. I haven’t fake tanned this year yet, but I usually get heaps of compliments about it. It doesn’t look streaky or orange, and it’s much cheaper than ST. I credit all my years of dancing where we had to wear the exact same shade of fake tan as to my expert application 😉 Have a great weekend at Blend – I’m jealous but equally not as this is the weekend I’m meeting Dana Linn Bailey! xo

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

One thing that’s always cheaper in Europe is chocolate! I’m 100% certain it’s the reason I gained 8-10 pounds while I was living in London! Serious! I’d eat at least one bar each day—sometimes two—because there was so much variety to choose from, and it was so cheap!

If I don’t like St. Tropez, I’ll definitely try Garnier. I’m admittedly scared to try it, though. It’s been at least three years since I’ve slathered my body with self-tanner, so it’s going to require a leap of faith.

Ahhh I’m so jealous you get to meet Dana Linn Bailey! That’s AWESOME! Have fun! <3 xoxo

  • Lisa

My favorite lotion is Bath and Body Works Twisted Peppermint … it smells AMAZING!!! I may or may not buy about 20 or more bottles of it every year! :-)

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Oooh, that DOES sound amazing! I’ll have to sample it next time I’m at the mall. Thanks for the recommendation! <3

  • Sophia

Wow I love the look of your toast and eggs meal! I adore avocado on toast I eat so much of it – it’s especially lovely on heavy pure essene rye bread. I am so intrigued by the peanut butter and jam :) I have never had it- but I love honey and peanut butter! Breakfast is amazing I agree- Italians are big into pastries for breakfast- but my favourite sweet breakfast is lemon crepes or plain butter croissant 😉 I am so embarrassed I use that very toothpaste lol don’t worry the salt is not noticeable lol I love the scent of vanilla and coconut body lotions- even my deodorant is vanilla! Go girl- stock up on chocolate it is always needed 😉 – I think natural skin can be beautiful but whatever makes you feel good- My skin is very olive naturally like my mama 😉 Ooh white pants are for braver souls than I! Sweet French toast is also foreign to me- but those muffins look fantastico- lots of love Sophia

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Oh no! I feel terrible that I bashed your toothpaste–and without even trying it! :'( My friend sent me the link the other day, and we were both saying how we’d never seen salt in toothpaste. I’m a big believer in trying anything once, though, so maybe I should give it a shot. Knowing me, I’d probably end up loving it!

Oh girl, you should definitely try peanut butter and jam–it’s a staple in the US, and one of my childhood favorites. I like peanut butter and honey even better, though! And speaking of delicious things, I sure hope you’re able to try French toast soon. Given your love for croissants and crepes, I’m sure you’d love it! Hugs! <3

      • Sophia

Don’t feel bad dear friend 😉 You are too sweet Sara- I hope you have a great time at Blend! hugs and love Sophia

  • Lillian_SeizeTheLatte

Apparently there’s a legit thing called Pinterest anxiety — I read a few articles on this last week. Basically, all the perfect photos represented on Pinterest are making women (this condition affects women almost exclusively, since the menfolk are generally bewildered by Pinterest) feel like total slackers/failures/losers. I’m not terribly surprised by this; it seems similar to the impact that fashion models have on women’s body image, and it seems totally understandable. I love the ideas I find on Pinterest, but I haven’t done, um, any of them. So, no worries, dear — you’re totally not alone in that boat! :)

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Wow, I’m not surprised! Do you have the links to the articles you read? I’d love to take a peak! xoxo

  • Danielle @ itsaharleyyylife

peanut butter poptarts! OMG! I used to always eat pop tarts as a kid. Now I don’t know the last time I had one.

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

I know–I was trying to remember when I ate my last Pop Tart, too! I’m pretty sure I was 12. :-p Happy Wednesday!

  • Sam @ Better With Sprinkles

I looooved Pop Tarts as a kid. I’d be all over those ones! And I have something like 2200 pins on my Pinterest page…quite a few of them recipes. Really, how many do you think i’ve made? I don’t let that bother me though, because I just use it as inspiration when I’m trying to think of something to cook or bake.

Tanning beds freak me out. Have you ever seen Final Destination 3? That enough made me never want to go near one, let alone the skin cancer stuff.

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

I haven’t even heard of Final Destination 3! Okay, now I have, because I just Googled it. :-p I think I’ll avoid watching it, though, because the damage has already been done! From here on out, it’s lotion all the way, baby!

      Happy Wednesday, Sam! <3

  • Natalie @ Lift,Sleep,Eat

I haven’t become too addicted to pinterest thankfully; theres days where I endlessly browse it but I never actually end up pinning that much..I kinda want to though as I’d like to make a few new recipes. Maybe ill have another look.
So lucky that you’re going to the Blend retreat..sounds amazing..hope you have a brilliant time! 😀
Can’t believe that Starbucks made your frap with almond milk thats so cool ahah :) I bet if I asked for that in my local branch I’d get some strange looks and the answer of “em, no” 😐
Toothpaste flavour has gotta be minty!! I can’t imagine salt..thats really strange!
Definitely not one for tanning beds; I did contemplate it a while ago when I was sick of being milk bottle white but decided the risk was definitely not worth it..I’ll generally use fake if I want to be a bit darker but that always seems to go wrong…Fail! Haha.
    Hope you’re having a good week :)

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

I think you should start pinning your own pancake recipes! I’m sure they’d go viral, because girl, you are the pancake queen! They always look so good! Happy Wednesday! <3

  • http://cleanfoodcreativefitness.com/ Danielle

I want an almond milk drink at starbucks now! Your pinterest comment made me laugh. I definitely have a ton of recipes pinned and I’ve probably only made 1 or 2. It’s nice to dream I guess. I used to love pop tarts and they were definitely a “special treat” in my house. Too bad they’re not gluten free! So jealous of your blend trip. Wish I was going! You are going to have a blast :)

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

I wish you were going to Blend, too! Will you be at HLS this year? I’m thinking about it! <3

  • runwithspoons

When it comes to Pinterest, I’m going to go with “it only makes us feel hopelessly inadequate.” I see sooooooo many delicious looking recipes, some of which I don’t even bother pinning anymore because I know I’ll never make them. Like, I love the thought of putting a lot of time and energy into creating delicious meals, but when it comes down to it, I just can’t be bothered lol. It sounds horrible, but it’s true.

And you’re going to love that St.Tropez tanner! I’ve been using it for a little over a month and it’s fantastic. I was always super skeptical about self-tanners, but yeah… I like to be tan, and I don’t want to risk getting skin cancer or wrinkles, so I try to limit my time outside. The St.Tropez stuff is wonderful though! No streaks and no weird orange color.

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

I’m so glad to hear St. Tropez is streak-free because I’m really really really nervous about trying it, given my previous self-tanner experiences! Thank you for the recommendation! Hugs and happy Wednesday, Amanda!

  • Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin

Hahaha I love all those puns – I literally just read all of them out loud to my mom and sister while laughing.

I go through Pinterest phases. When I meal plan I tend to make a lot of Pinterest recipes – I actually created a board of “Recipes I’ve already tried” and it’s getting pretty big! But now that I’m home for the summer with my family we all have different schedules so we’re not meal planning and I haven’t made any new Pinterest recipes in a while. 😛

I love pastel pants! I have a pink pair and I just got a mint green pair. Now I have my eyes out for a light yellow pair.

So jealous you’re going to Blend retreat – I wish I were going! I hope you have a blast though! xoxo

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Aren’t those puns great?! I kind of want to print the list and pin it to my bulletin board or something. Or even better–keep it in my iPhone, so I can make smart quips mid-conversation, and lead others to believe I’m witty. 😉

I wish you were going to Blend, too!! Any chance you’ll be at HLS this summer? xoxoxo

  • Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl

Oh my gah!! I need that breakfast..like NOW! And pairing it with a french toast muffin wouldn’t be too bad, either! 😉

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Oh, girl, I’m totally with you on the egg, toast AND French toast muffin breakfast! 😀

  • Rachel @ Eat, Learn, Discover!

Oh how I wish Starbucks actually carried almond milk! Their soymilk is way too sweet for my liking. I’m also ALL about coconut lotion. Desert Essence makes a really good one that doesn’t break the bank!

I really wanted to go to Blend this year, but apparently Graduation is more important. You’ll have so much fun, wich I could be there!

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Ooh, I’ll have to look for the Desert Essence lotion–it sounds fantastic!

And yes, graduation is definitely more important than Blend! I SO wish you were going, too, but there’s always next year! <3

  • http://www.hungrymeetshealthy.com/ Christina

I LOVE that you asked them to add your almond milk. Smart!!! I like fresh minty toothpastes..mmmm. Crest is my go to. Fave lotion scent is “Dark Kisses” from B&BW. So good. I also love vanillas and anything fresh. Tan in the bed? No m’am. I did for years and got SO many freckles and it scares me. Now I use a self tanner by Niea that I looooooove. YES TO PASTELS!!!!

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Oooh, Dark Kisses?! I’m intrigued! Definitely trying that next time I’m at the mall! Hugs!

  • julie

awww I hope you have such a great time at Blend!!! Can’t wait to hear all about it! One time I tried to bring almond milk into Starbucks and they wouldn’t let me make a drink with stuff from the outside! They said they weren’t allowed – I’m like that’s bullshit. hahaha. Anyways I guess I need to try a different location! LOVEEEE pastel pants but I feel like I wouldn’t wear them enough!

  • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

I have TOTAL confidence you can pull off the pastel pant look! Happy Wednesday! <3

  • http://Www.annatheapple.com/ AnnaTheApple

Firstly, I used to eat Pop Tarts every single day for breakfast when I was younger. *Hangs head in shame* I never used to eat anything, then Pop Tarts arrived, then toast, and then the beloved oatmeal. Nothing in between except the occassional pancake/waffle appearance. But yeah it is scary the amount of rubbish is in Pop Tarts – I guess that’s why they taste so darn good.
I never knew you could take your own milk to Starbucks! I’m not sure how that will be in British Starbucks but I will definitely give that a go (if I ever remember to take Almond milk with me haha). I bet it tasted so good!

Pastel trousers are a no-go for me. A) because I will always spill stuff on myself B) I don’t have the right colouring. Pale colours really wash me out and I look anaemic. But they look so lovely on those models! Humph :(

I’m quite good with my ‘food list’ pins in that they really help me liven up meals at home and I’ve made a fair few of them. But baking ones? Nada. Like nothing I’ve pinned I’ve made. It’s devastating but I don’t actually bake a huge amount so that’s my argument and I’m sticking to it 😉

For toothpaste, Ben makes us have a ‘sensitive’ toothpaste and it tastes so inferior to Colgate. And it’s expensive. It has caused a few marrital disputes 😉 haha.

Ahh fake tan…The last time I used fake tan my dad called me ‘jaffa’ for the entire time it lasted. I’ve come to grow found of my vampiric appeareance henceforth as you can imagine hehe.

Have an amazing time in Salt Lake City :))

  • http://www.missymiller.wordpress.com/ Missy

If Pop-Tart was “free” this and that, well then…. they wouldn’t be PopTarts amirite? LOL. They should make a gluten free version at least, though.

At any rate PBJ > Pop-Tarts. Actually PBJ > most things in the world.
    Have fun on your trip!

  • Sprint2theTable

I lov everyhting about this post. Those french toast muffins?! Whoa. AND you should make your own GF pop-tarts! That PB idea is calling my name… :)

  • http://lisalately.com/ Lisa

I love bringing my own almond milk to Starbucks! They’re surprisingly very nice about making drinks with it, which I appreciate a lot! I don’t think they really care much, I mean lots of people can’t drink soy and dairy I’m assuming. And as long as you buy something it shouldn’t be an issue.
It’s so weird because I thought pinning would help me be more creative and experimental but so far it has failed in that department Oops. I should probably just delete my pinterest but I can’t help myself for loving it.
I have the same favorite lotion scent as you! I heart vanilla and coconut.
Nope never ever in my life used a tanning bad (obviously, since I’m SO pale haha, so I don’t self tan either. It’s the one thing I don’t do I guess (in terms of beautifying)…but I’ve learnt to embrace my pasty white complexion. Sunless tanners just go on WAY too dark for my skin tone. Oh well.
Have fun at Blenddddd!!! Miss you! Wish I would be there too to see you!!

  • http://forgottenbeast.wordpress.com/ Allie

I’m glad you explained that frappuccino business–I was about to get really jealous that you had a Starbucks that offered almond milk 😉 I love pastel pants but will avoid them for similar reasons–I make a mess of everything! Dark colors are my friend. Or at least whites that can be bleached…

  • http://twitter.com/AshLWiseman Ashley

I’ve been loving all of the adorable pastel pants lately too! I’m terrible at spilling when I’m wearing white or light colored clothes too though.

Those Pop Tarts! Yum! For some reason I’ve been craving Pop Tarts lately. It’s weird considering I haven’t had them in YEARS! Love them though.

  • Natalie

That Frappe looks so good! Do you know how many calories it ends up having with almond milk?

  • http://twitter.com/healthlovechoc Gina Topley

I really need to just suck it up and ask the Starbucks folks if they will make me a drink with almond milk! I hope you have an amazing time at Blend, I will be jealously stalking and living vicariously through pictures all weekend! :-)

  • http://www.starsystemz.com/blog Courtney Violet Bentley

Wow! I wish Starbucks would get the HINT + start having almond milk, i mean how expensive is almond milk? NOT so Starbucks get a HINT lol* We should have everyone in the blogging community write comments!!! I love SELF TANNER, I actually have my own airbrush kit and spray my friends + myself! i have had too many chances with getting skin cancer with the amount I used to tan, just like you TAN-A-HOLIC thank goodness for self tanning! I actually did a series with my pinterest where I tested out some of the recipes because like you I had 1,000 recipes that I had never tried! I LOVE coconut oil as my lotion (so much cheaper $25 WOWZA) Sending you lots of LOVE this week!!! xo C

  • Tiffany Azure

How funny, I just bought my first ever self tanning lotion two days ago. :) I too used to tan all the time and this year I’m trying to take better care of my skin and decided to knix the tanning, but I love having tan skin! So I picked up a lotion from Banans Boat and its already working so well, I love it! :)

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

My friend just told me she uses Banana Boat and loves it, too! Happy Friday!

  • Jessie

Ha Ha I had to laugh when you mentioned how many recipes you’ve made, because girl I am the exact same way. I’m not sure if I’ve even made it to four though! How pitiful, Ha Ha! I’ll tell myself Ill make it the upcoming weekend, forget about it & then obviously it never happens, Ha Ha!

Too funny that you brought in your Almond Milk. When we were on vacation last summer in Greece, I actually brought my own almond milk with me and would have the bar lady make my morning protein shakes w/ it.

Have fun this weekend girl <3 <3

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

I love that you took almond milk to Greece! That’s totally something I would do! <3 xoxo

  • Life’s a Bowl

Have a blast at Blend Retreat this weekend! I really hope to join the festivities next year 😀 I’m definitely a minty toothpaste kinda gal, can’t do the fruity kind… And it’s absolutely inevitable that I’ll spill or bump into something if I’m wearing light/ white pants.

  • Melissa @ Mouthwatering Morsel

those brunch food is all carbs hahahaha and pastel pants don’t look too wonderful on me.
