Friday Five in Five

by Sara on April 5, 2013

The weekend is so close that I can practically…taste it!

And right now it’s tasting rather rich and chocolaty…

Welp. Sorry, I couldn’t help it! I think it’s safe to say that I just penned the #1 contender for corniest post introduction ever.

Since it’s Friday–and only because it’s Friday—please forgive me? Please?

What I was trying to say, is that I made Delighted Momma’s 3-Minute Chocolate Mug Cake yesterday, and holy cow was it good. Like knock-your-socks off amazing. Protein mug cakes were all the rage when I started blogging back in 2010, but honestly, I never quite understood the hype. They were healthy, sure, but a bit too rubbery for my liking.

This mug cake is so completely different! What I love most about it—besides the taste of course—is that it contains nothing but simple honest ingredients. Almond flour. Cocoa powder. Eggs. Honey. It’s a mini-sized dessert that’s a little bit indulgent but a whole lot of delicious. If you’re looking for a treat to try, I highly suggest you make it.

In other news, it should be a fun weekend around here! I’m meeting a friend for dinner tonight, hitting the farmer’s market and nail salon with my mom on Saturday, and watching the Mad Men premiere Sunday night. Can’t wait!

But let’s back up a bit. Today I’m recapping the week in true alliteration-loving blogger fashion: 5 lists. 5 things. On Friday.

5 Things I’m Loving

1. Peanut Butter and Banana Wafflewiches. After going on hiatus for a few months (for absolutely no reason), this made a return on Monday.

Welcome back, lover.

2. This article: When Eating Healthy Becomes Your God. A spiritual take on idolizing food. Good read.

3. Macadamia Nuts. I discovered this container in my mom’s kitchen cupboard, and have found myself reaching for it…well, whenever I walk past said kitchen cupboard. Mac nuts are a little too pricey for regular purchase, so having them at my disposal is quite a treat. They’re little bites of tropical heaven that remind me of Hawaii!

4. Power Up Tank in Burning Yellow by Lululemon. Love the sunny color and singular look at me I have a sexy back strap.

5. Coral Pants/Lace Top. I adore everything about this spring look!

 5 Workouts

Monday: Back and 10 minutes of HIIT plyometrics.

Tuesday: 5 mile run (outside!)

Wednesday: Chest and triceps.

Thursday: Shoulders and abs.

Friday: Biceps and 15 minutes of HIIT sprints.

5 New Goals for April

1. Cut back on carbonated beverages. Confession: I drink at least one–often two each day. Over the past year I’ve drastically reduced my consumption of Diet Coke, however even all-natural varieties of soda, like Zevia, still make me bloated. Bubbles = air. Air ends up in my stomach. Air in my stomach makes me feel like I’m carrying around a balloon in my belly. Oy. Considering my love for all things fizzy, this is going to be very challenging!

2. Take yoga or pilates once/week. This is something I’ve been talking about for over a year, yet I haven’t gone even once. I picked up a class schedule at the YMCA yesterday, which is the gym I use when I’m in Boise, and was excited to see they offer 20+ sessions each week. Since classes are free with my month-long membership, I have no excuse to not get my om on. I’m hoping the stretching will alleviate some of the chronic soreness in my muscles, and relax my constantly buzzing mind. 😉

3. Get 7+ hours of sleep every night. When I’m in DC, it’s not uncommon for me to run on five hours of snooze time. Basically, I’m always sleep deprived! The life pace is much slower in Boise, so it seems like a good time to begin implementing new sleeping habits. Since I wake up around 7:00, my goal is to be in bed by midnight. Accomplishing this will depend almost entirely on the success of my next goal…

4. No technology in bed! Does that sound dirty? I love perusing Pinterest and Instagram before I go to sleep each night, but when a bright screen is coupled with pictures of drool-worthy food and a never-ending news stream, nodding off becomes pretty challenging. Social media ends when I climb under the covers. Period.

5. Re-focus on muscle development and weight gain. Tummy troubles over the past month have stalled my progress a bit, which is frustrating, but I’m determined to get back on track. Even though doing makeup work while sorting through food allergies/intolerances is a bit challenging, I’ve identified four changes I can make to help me get started:

1) Reduce cardio to 1-2 times/week. I’ve been exercising intuitively over the past few weeks, which means I’ve cut back on weight lifting and increased cardio. However running 8 miles just because I feel like it isn’t going to help me. I’m hoping alternatives like yoga, pilates, and walking will satisfy my cardio cravings without zapping precious energy.

2) Increase calorie-dense and nutrient-dense foods that nourish my body (hello, coconut butter and avocado!).

3) Eat “semi-intuitively.” I’ll go into more detail next week, but over the past few months, I’ve stopped planning meals in favor of exclusively listening to my body and cravings. This is my preferred way to eat,  but I acknowledge that I need to be slightly more intentional over the next month or two.

4). Relax and enjoy the ride. This one isn’t as cut-and-dry as the others, but I firmly believe that when we nourish all components of health—physical, emotional and spiritual—our bodies naturally find their happy place. It’s easy to become preoccupied with finding answers in the “shoulds,” when in fact, the most concrete answers are often found in just being.

5 Facts Worth Sharing From Food Network Magazine

I was going to title this list “5 Things I Read,” however then I realized all of the articles came from April’s issue of Food Network Magaizne—which I thumbed through on the airplane Tuesday. I love this magazine. It’s not only filled with great recipes, but fun quizzes and factoids, too. Here’s what caught my attention:

1. Topping foods with fried eggs is super trendy right now. Food Network tried hundreds of combinations, and came up with their top 50.  Must try combo: French toast and fried egg. Questionable combo: Oatmeal and fried egg. I like egg white in oats, but I’m not sure  how I feel about about runny yolk oozing all over my oats.

Yay or nay?

2. Edible baby names are hot. This really isn’t new news, but in case you didn’t know, Drew Barrymore recently named her daughter Maple and Jason Bateman named his daughter Olive. Other trending names: Clementine, Sage, and Apple.

3. Chefs are beginning to ban Instagram (and all photo taking) in restaurants. Gasp!  This Huffington Post article goes into more detail about food bloggers’ worst nightmare—the possible end of food porn!

4. Birthday Cake is Everywhere. Apparently the trendiest ice cream flavor right now is birthday cake. I plan on popping 20 Lactaid pills and then diving into a carton of Breyer’s Birthday Blast.

5. I have a crazy craving for cinnamon rolls. I’m blaming this photo in the magazine.

Yum. Does anyone know of a good GF cinnamon roll recipe?

5 Things I’m Looking Forward To

I’ve already mentioned a few of these, but I think they’re exciting enough to repeat…

1. Meeting my high school gal pal, Meg, for dinner tonight! We’re going to P.F. Chang’s—one of my favorite chain restaurants. I’ve been dreaming of the seared ahi and chicken lettuce wraps all week!

2. The reunification of 98 Degrees.  Heh. I was watching the Today Show on Thursday morning, and learned that Nick Lachey and Co. is debuting a new album this spring. Hey, in my defense, they’re not technically a “boy band” anymore—these guys are in their 30’s, which totally qualifies them as a “man band.” Right? Right.

3. Blend Retreat! It’s only a month away! The last time I was in Park City, I was four years old. I can’t wait to hang with some of my favorite “blends,” and frolic in the fresh mountain air.

Are you coming? It’s not too late to sign up!

4. Flip flops and pedicures. The warm(isn) 70-degree weather in Boise means I was able to pull out sandals yesterday! Since my feet are in desperate need of some TLC, my mom and I are planning on getting pedicures this weekend. I looooove having my feet rubbed.

5. The premiere of Mad Men on Sunday night!! Don Draper is back, and, from the looks of the sneak peak photos, as dapper as ever. 😉

Aaaand…that’s a wrap!

Wherever you are and whatever you do, I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

I want to know…

What’s your favorite nut?

Peanuts! Although they’re technically not a nut. Second favorite: a tie between cashews and macadamia nuts.

Do you drink carbonated beverages? Did you in the past? If so, what replacements have you found most satisfying?

Do you take photos of food when you’re at restaurants? How do you feel about restaurants banning phone photography?

Yay or nay: Technology in bed? Fried eggs on oats? Fruit-inspired baby names?

  • Courtney Violet Bentley

I love your Friday posts :) 98 degree come back..I am so excited that brought me back ! I have been guilty of using technology in bed but now only do instagram, twitter and Facebook when I’m in a WiFi zone or at home and not texting while driving so I am making progress! I am a carbonated drink and salt lover lately and I need to stop especially since swimsuit season is around the corner I do get bloated from it so I need to stop! I hope you have a great weekend! Love + ShineCourtstar

    • Sara Stewart

Ahh, I know what you mean about salt and carbonated drinks causing BIG time bloat during swimsuit season! It’s always a problem for me! When it’s really hot out, sometimes I want something cold and fizzy, and it’s hard to say no. Happy Friday, darlin! <3

  • Lucie Pfaendler

Gosh, the chocolate mug cake looks so good. And that yellow top is soooo pretty!!! My fave nuts are Paranuts and Macadamia. Yumm! No technology for me in bed. I place my mobile in a other room for the night. And no carbonated drinks! I replace them with tea – there are so MANY delicious flavors!! Hmm, names….I wouldn’t call my baby a fruity name. I mean…. Peach Ferrari? Banana Ferrari? Sounds like carneval. Happy Weekend love!!!

    • Sara Stewart

You HAVE to try the chocolate mug cake! You’ll love it, I promise! Oh my gosh, haha, I laughed out loud when I read your potential future baby names! I like Banana Ferrari!! DO IT! 😉 Happy Friday, Lucie! <3

  • Tara @ Sweat like a Pig

I used to have Diet Coke 3-4 times a week and I cut it out cold turkey last summer. I now have tea. I realised it wasn’t the coke I looked forward to, just the habit of drinking something that wasn’t plain old water!

Yay for reducing cardio 😉 Enjoy the warm weather – we had a snow storm in London yesterday, I’m officially over winter!!! xo

    • Sara Stewart

Yeah, I think you’re right–it’s the mere thought of knowing you’re “treating” yourself to something other than water that makes Diet Coke so enticing. I DO crave carbonation, but I’m trying to ease out by first switching to Perrier, which doesn’t seem to bloat me as much.

I can’t believe you had snow yesterday! Want to come visit me in Idaho? 😉 <3 xoxo

  • Khushboo

I definitely think you’ll surpass your expectations to give up Diet Coke…I gave it up cold turkey on Jan 1, 2012 and not once have I craved it. I’m quite surprised given I used to drink at least 1 can daily but after the first week, there mere thought of popping open a can made me shudder! Love the rest of your goals especially as you have a good plan of attack for each one! I should get on board with the technology in bed goal- browsing my phone is the first & last thing I do every day…probably not the best of habits!

On a different note, yay for being trendy- I love topping foods with runny eggs, especially sweet potatoes & toast. I’ve tried topping savory oats with a runny eggs which was great and I’m kinda thinking it would work well with sweet oats too…consider it French toast in a bowl ;)!

Have a fab weekend Sara and enjoy your pedicure…I think I shall be heading fro one too soon!

    • Sara Stewart

It’s a huge relief to know that you’ve been successful giving up Diet Coke! I sure hope the cravings go away, because today has been a bit rough. 😉

Okay, you’ve sold me on sweet oats topped with a fried egg because I can definitely get on board with “French toast in a bowl.” Yummm. I think I’m going to try it next week. :)

Enjoy your pedicure, and happy weekend!! <3 xoxo

  • coco

love that spring look. coral is so beautiful.

I like almond and pistachios. almond in form of nut butter though, can’t eat it as nuts.

i don’t drink sodas in a daily basis, only ocassionally. I never was a big fan because it bloats me.

i do take pics at restaurants, can’t believe they won’t allow me to anymore.

    technology in bed, EVERYNIGHT!

fried eggs in eggs… sooooo delicious!!!

    • Sara Stewart

I’m glad to hear that you like fried eggs in oats because I think I’m going to try it next week! When you do that, do you make your oats savory or sweet? <3

  • Caitlin Dunlevy

Love fried eggs with anything…literally anything!

    • Sara Stewart

Have you tried one on a hot dog?! That was one of their suggestions, and it made me squirm! 😉

  • AnnaTheApple

Ahhh macadamia nuts are like my nemesis. I can’t have them near me otherwise I eat them in outrageous quantities. They are so good. But I always think of that Friends episode where Ross and Rachel get really drunk and Ross eats what he thinks is a macadamia nut from the floor and then goes “Nope, something else” hehe.
I think your goals sound really good. I adored doing pilates but I had to stop because it got so expensive. I need to find somewhere a bit cheaper to do it, or get on and do it by myself…
I do quite enjoy fizzy drinks but I probably drink one a week as I prefer water or warmer drinks. Though you can’t beat Diet Coke from the tap at a pub, ahh that is bliss.
And I LOVE your coral themed outfit. So pretty. Literally I want everything!!
    Have a great week :)

  • Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl

In my opinion, topping food with fried eggs is not just a trend, it is a MUST!!!

I used to drink pop every day, but finally gave it up a couple of years ago. I will admit, though, that I enjoy a Diet Coke about once every two to three weeks. It still tastes good to me, too! 😉

    • Sara Stewart

Yeah, I think Diet Coke will continue to be a special occasion drink for me, too. I love the crisp fizziness on a hot day!

  • Sam @ better With Sprinkles

I love fried eggs on my oats! I usually have sweet oats, so I love the savoury/sweet combo. Try it sometime! :-p
Favourite nut: if we’re talking nut butters, than peanut butter. Although i’m not a huge fan in actual nut form: I would have to say cashews.

I used to be a daily Diet Coke person, but in 2011 I went cold turkey for about 3 months, which broke that ‘need-to-have-it-daily” thing. Now I only drink one when I’m really craving it, which works out to be one every week or two.

Great goals! I’m excited to see how they go.

    • Sara Stewart

I’m so happy to hear about your success with breaking the DC addiction! There’s hope! :)

I need to try this sweet oats/savory egg combo–it sounds so strange to me, but I think I’ll be able to muster enough courage to give it a go. 😉 Happy weekend!

  • Lillian_SeizeTheLatte

OMG, that mug cake looks amazeballs. I’m going to have to give it a shot! :)

I’m a nay on technology in bed, since I find that the screen glow wakes me up. (Boooo.) So, I’ve gone all old-school: I read paperbacks or magazines before hitting the hay, and I keep my phone and Blackberry charging in the kitchen instead of the bedroom. Besides, that way when my alarm goes off in the morning, I can’t roll over and hit snooze — I have to get up and schlep into the kitchen to turn it off, and that’s when I smell the fresh-brewed coffee. It’s the perfect incentive not to go back to bed. :) Happy Friday!

    • Sara Stewart

Definitely try the mug cake! I looooved it, and think I’ll be making another one for dessert tonight!

  • Britt B.

Sunny-side up or poached eggs on toast is heaven on earth! With a side of apples and crunchy pb?! YUM! I haven’t tried eggs on oats though…it sounds interesting, I may actually have to give this a try!
Definitely almonds for me, they’re so addicting!
I actually was addicted to Diet Coke for the longest time. It was so bad that it got up to 4-5 cans per day!! (I know, I’m ashamed to admit that!) But I recently gave it up for Lent, thinking I would end up heavily addicted again once Lent was over, but I haven’t gone back, and let me tell you, I feel 10x better and 10x less bloated!! Honestly, once I gave up Diet Coke, I started drinking more water and green tea (green tea at every meal, water in between) and I felt so much more satisfied!
I’m not too sure how I feel about the edible baby names…I really like flower/plant names to be honest, I know that sounds weird! But I love the names Ivy, Daisy, and Lilly :)

    • Sara Stewart

I used to drink 4-5 cans/day, too! Now it’s more like one/day, but it’s still making me bloated. I’m sipping on tea as I type this, and even though it’s not *quite* the same as Diet Coke (no fun bubbles!), I will admit that it’s pretty darn satisfying. :)

Floral names are some of my favorites! Not weird at all! I love the name Lilly!

  • Danielle

So many fun things in this post! I’m in love with the coral lace trend too and can’t wait for spring weather so I can wear it! I’m a sucker for fizzy drinks too but I definitely agree with you on wanting to cut back. They’re so good when I have them but always leave me feeling super full.

    • Sara Stewart

Exactly–they taste wonderful going down, but then the stomach inflation begins, and doom follows. Haha! Happy weekend, Danielle!

  • Claire

Oh my goodness that chocolate cake. I am counting down the seconds until I can drive home and try to recreate it. The oozing chocolate centre? I’m sold! I so need to incorporate more yoga into my weekly routine too, I did some yesterday and it felt so good but hurt so badly haha! With you on sleep and technology too! Can’t believe you are able to wear flip flops, it is so chilly here in the UK!

    • Sara Stewart

Yay! Let me know if you make it! It was so easy and delicious!

  • Sally

Love this Friday post! So many great tidbits! Like you, I’m cutting back on Diet Coke…trying to replace it with La Croix water. :) Bring on the eggs…let’s try some of Food Network’s ideas! Can’t wait for Madmen on Sunday…after cheering on the Cal women in the Final Four. Go Bears!!

    • Sara Stewart

I can’t wait for Sunday, either! We’ll sip La Croix while we cheer on the Bears, and then we’ll eat fried eggs atop something while we watch Mad Men. Sounds perfect! xoxo <3

  • runwithspoons

Eee! So many things! Macademia nuts remind me of Hawaii as well, and I definitely want to escape into those memories because it’s currently snowing in my neck of the woods, which just feels straight up wrong in April. And I love the coral and lace trend, although I probably won’t be bringing it out for the next little while seeing as it looks like everything BUT spring outside.

Love the goals that you have for this month. I’m a fan of carbonated beverages, but I stay away from the diet ones and even Zevia – I find that stevia or anything with artificial sweetener really messes up my stomach. Instead I drink things like Perrier and San Pellegrino – those don’t mess with me so bad. And definitely NAY on technology in bed. I find that I have a really hard time falling asleep when my brain is still buzzing from a computer, so I made a rule to only bring books into bed when I’m done for the night. Fried eggs on oats, on the other hand, are a big time YAY. It’s actually one of my favorite combos :)

    • Sara Stewart

Ahh, girl, I’m so so sorry about the snow!! I have a solution: come visit me while I’m in Boise! It’s pretty warm here, and I’m not *that* far away anymore. We can eat dark chocolate and you can teach me how to make the perfect bowl of oatmeal (with a fried egg on top, of course!). :) xoxo

  • Sloane

This post was so fun to read! I’ve been thinking of trying savory oats for some time, but I’m not sure how I feel about a big oozy egg over them. Worth a try though?

I’m so psyched for Mad Men too! I LOOOVE that show!
I hate that restaurants are banning food photography, but I understand where they’re coming from. Still–food porn is a great way to get more people to come taste their noms!
As far as techno in bed ( I died laughing at that by the way) I’m a nay. It keeps me up when I should be sleeping.
    Happy Friday love!

    • Sara Stewart

I’ll try the oozy egg yolk over oats if you will! Do we have a deal? 😉 xoxo

  • Meg @ A Dash of Meg

OMGGGG I just have so much to say sis it’s not even funny!!!!!!!!!!! SO MUCH TO SAY! And I agree with Sloane, such a fun post to read 😀

I agree with you about the mug cakes! I just don’t really understand the love for protein powder mixed with eggs???? SO RUBBERY AND YUCK! YUCK YUCK YUCK, but I’m about to take a peak and the one you shared!

I am totally FOR topping things with dippy eggs 😉 UH HU! No problemo with that 😉 HAHAHAHA!

I also love the Lulu top you showed AND that spring outfit! I THINK I CAN RECREATE THAT EXACT OUTFIT ACTUALLY 😀 Thanks sis! It’s so pretty!!!!!!!!!!!

I love you so much & cannot wait to chat <3

  • Alex Meyer

Nuts: almonds, or specifically, almond butter. YUM.

Carbonation: I used to drink dt. dew like it was my job, but managed to kick it in the fall. Now, I drink some regular soda, but not nearly what I used to. Most satisfying replacement was iced tea for sure!

Photos: Depends on my company. I think it’s silly for them to ban it, though…free advertising!

Nay: But I’m guilty of checking social media & email in bed, too. I should just put it down and go to sleep – but it’s hard!

98 degrees reunion = awesome. I saw them in concert during the peak of their career. Ah, memories!

    I can’t wait for Blend!!

  • Natalie @ Lift,Sleep,Eat

I always love your posts..theres always so much to read and lovely pictures!!
banana peanut wafflewich looks amazing..ive never had a waffle
before..i know i know!! I’ve just discovered french toast recently so
I’m thinking next time I have a bit of spare cash I want to buy a waffle
maker so I can start making myself some hugeee protein waffles!!
favourite nut..oooh thats hard..peanuts in peanut butter..but as a nut
to eat on their own..probably cashews, macadamia nuts or almonds..i
pretty much like all nuts though; except for almonds.
    I used to drink
soooo many carbonated so proud of myself of being able to
stop; i only treat myself to one every couple of weeks or when im away
now. I used to crave them all the time; now I just treat myself with a
glass of iced water..but I drink it with a straw feels a bit
    more special then!
I always take pictures of my food in restaurants
usually..its a shame they’re thinking of banning it as its actually
    advertisement for them?! Strange.
Technology in bed..I love it as its
so cosy, but I agree definitely hard to go to sleep..I’m not sure
whether I like the idea of savoury oats..but I guess don’t knock it til
    ive tried it haha.

  • Sora

Hi Sara! My name is Sora (, and I just stumbled upon your blog and I really enjoyed looking through!

I really liked the article (When Eating Healthy Becomes Your God) because that is EXACTLY what I struggled/am still struggling with.

Peanut butter is probably one of my favorite foods, so that peanut butter-waffle-banana deliciousness has me drooling:) but I prefer almonds if we’re talking just about nuts!

I’ve just recently started blogging, so I haven’t had the chance to take restaurant food pictures, but I would have to say I would be sad if they banned it completely! Looking at other people’s food is always the best because I feel like I’ve tried so many different foods:)

No Technology in bed if it’s nighttime and I’m trying to sleep…
Fried eggs on oats- I would definitely try it!
Fruit-inspired baby names- Not a fan!

  • Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin

My favourite nut by default are almonds, since they’re the only one I’m not allergic to haha. I’m so glad I can have Barney Butter – I don’t know how I would live without it!

I loooove Coke Zero, diet Pepsi and Zevia. I try to keep my consumption of them low though. I don’t buy them to drink at home because if I did, I would drink them all the time! So I try to save them for the occasional treat.

I was really iffy about trying whole eggs on oatmeal too, but it’s actually really good! Especially when paired with some sauteed spinach, avocado, tomato and nutritional yeast.

Have an awesome weekend girl! :)

  • Jessie

I think your April goals are awesome, Sara! I don’t doubt for a second you won’t be able to achieve each one, or at least improve <3<3

I hardly ever take photos when we are out at restaurants. It's not because I don't want people to think I'm strange,I just forget and would rather just enjoy my time with Joshua. That's just me though =)…oh & I'm just not a good photographer.

I usually check my e-mail on my phone every night before I go to bed,but that's about it. Never tried fried eggs on oats, but I think I'd totally dig it! I love Olive for a baby name. Too cute =)

  • Gina Topley

I really loved that article on spirituality and food, I think that so much of it held a lot of truth! On a similar note, I also love the idea of giving up “shoulda”and just being.

I belong to the YMCA and have taken their yoga classes and have actually found a few that were really good. It’s all about who’s teaching though. But when I certainly can’t afford a yoga studio membership, I can’t complain!

And seeing how it is close to midnight, I think I’m going to go ahead and join you in the whole no technology and in bed by 12 thing. 😉

  • lindsay cotter

i think i read that article before too! gosh, so true! and we do fried egg on steal cut oats with honey. Yes, try it! yay for blend!

  • Min

Dearest Sara! Sorry I’ve been so MIA lately..a lot of family troubles…
Your post always makes me smile. You’re so freakin adorable..I wish I can carry you in my pocket so I can talk to you everytime I need some laughter. I can totally see you in that yellow tank top! Yellow is such a great color on you ;). And that lace shirt…Ok I need to go shopping soon. It’s been a really really long time.
I’ve been working out a lot more than usual. Now that my period is normal, I find myself slowly increasing the intensity. I have to remember, everything in moderation! Topped egg on oatmeal?!? I would never have thought…I would like to suggest that perhaps Korean cuisine had something to do with the trend? hehe..bibimbap and kimchi fried rice with fried egg is a MUST and that’s always the way they’ve been enjoyed. I cannot believe that restaurants are banning instagram..well, as long as they don’t prevent me from taking pictures with my camera hehe. Hope you have an awesome weekend with your friend and your mom! Just one more month till summer..really?!? can’t wait…miss you!! xoxo

  • Lisa

Great goals Sara! I’m proud of you for focusing on your health and I know how tough it can be with tummy troubles to put on weight, but your attitude has been nothing but amazing and it’s such a wonderful thing to see!
I need to be with you on the sleep, technology, and carbonated beverages goals. I’m a sucker for zevia and diet coke even though they make my tummy turn. Oops.
We can work on that together;)
Love that spring outfit! The coral colors are so pretty.
Hm, don’t know of any GF cinnamon rolls, but let me know if you find them!
Haha, birthday cake totally is so trendy tight now! It’s so weird.
E-mail me and I can send you some birthday cake David’s Tea!!! I’d be happy too to that for you.
I loove having my feet rubbed too! It’s such a guilty pleasure. Even though most people hate feet, so I only get that done when I get a pedicure hah.
    Have a great weekend love!!xox

  • julie

this is fun!! glad peanut butter wafflewhiches are back in action – love their ooey gooenyess! thats the exact way i’ve been making my little chocolate mug cakes for like the past ocuple of months! they come out SO SO SO much better that way without protein powder or anything – so yummy and so good with coconut butter! you would absolutely ADORE nikkis coconut butter – i just got the macadamia nut one and its freaking fantastical

  • Melissa @ Mouthwatering Morsel

I should try a monthly goal thing too. but it seems like so much work to remember it all. haha I got a free yoga lesson this weekend and I loved it. I def. need to check some out!! do you have any good dvds or something to work off of?

  • Heather Powers

Omg, you just reminded me that I haven’t gotten my latest FN mag in the mail…what’s up with THAT?! Hrrrrmmm… Lord have mercy! Cinnamon rolls! The cream of the crop! The king of ALL pastries! I burn, I pine, I perish! Bahaha!

You HAVE to tried a fried egg in oats! Savory or sweet, it’s amazing! Have you ever tried the Better Oat’s brand of instant oats? In their Oat Fit line, they have a maple and brown sugar…top that with a fried egg and I SWEAR it tastes just like kettle corn!! Trust me!

I think the possible ban of food photography/IG in restaurants is absolutely INSANE! I mean, unless the person is causing a disturbance with flash photography, I don’t see the harm! PLUS the restaurant is basically getting FREE ADVERTISING!! C’mon!!
