What are your “weekend numbers”?

Did you watch the Super Bowl? What did you think of the half time show?

I think Beyonce killed it! Loved the Destiny’s Child reunion, too!

Most marvelous thing you ate this weekend?

  • Coco

why you cried 2 times girl?

and the man who paid your meal? awesome!

    9- hours slept Sunday night
4- hours spent in the kitchen

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

If I had a baby as cute as yours, I’d be kissing her thousands of times each day, too! Happy Monday!

  • http://www.o2befitmom.com/ Nelly

I am obsessed with that Hummus too! It only lasts 3 days here :)

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

It’s the BEST hummus, isn’t it?! I think I need to start buying 4-5 containers when I’m at Trader Joe’s. I can’t live without it. ;)

The numbers nerd in me loved this post, Sara…sounds like you had a fantastic weekend! How awesome was Beyonce’s performance! When Kelly & Michelle came on, I got a lump in my throat as I was the biggest Destiny’s Child fan growing up! That man at Whole Foods sounds like a gem- talk about the ultimate way to “pay it forward”…reading about it really made me smile :) !

The best thing I ate this weekend was undoubtedly the birthday cake we got for my grandmother: chocolate sponge cake with layers of caramel, lavender, and hazelnut ice cream. I die just thinking about it…it was definitely one of those desserts which is worth every calorie and more!!

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

I was a huge Destiny’s Child fan, too! I’m hoping that they put out a reunion album soon. :)

My goodness, your grandmother’s cake sounds DELICIOUS! Caramel, lavender, and hazelnut ice cream? Swoon! Totally worth every calorie! <3

  • http://onehealthymunchkin.blogspot.ca/ Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin

That was so nice of that man to pay for your sushi! Also that picture has spurred a major sushi craving… can you believe it’s been 3 weeks since I last had it? I think that’s a record for me!

And your Superbowl snacks all sound delicious! I didn’t watch the game because no one I know was having a party, and I don’t like football enough to watch it on my own lol.

Oh my gosh YES I love that Thrift Shop song. My sister and I seriously spent the entire Christmas break singing it

5 – hours I spent at work on Sunday (ugh)
2 – hours I spent doing more work-related stuff at home on Sunday night (double ugh)
3 – hours I spent trying to make dried beans from scratch
5 – seconds it took me to throw out my beans after I accidentally cooked them to a mush haha

Have a great Monday girl! xoxo

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Girl, you need to fix this sushi drought fast! ;)

Bummer about the beans! I’m glad you’re laughing about it now, though; it’s kind of a funny story! ;) xoxo

I loved this post Sara! So fun to see your weekend in numbers. Amazing about the free sushi, yum! It was good to see your smiles outnumbered your cries big time, smiles and joy always feel that much better after a letting it all out, right? Those peanut butter cup cookies look delicious! Want to face plant into my screen and finish that one off haha.

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Thanks, Claire! I wish you could face plant into your screen because those cookies were pretty delicious; or even better–come over to my house! There are a few left with your name on them. ;)

  • http://betterwithsprinklesblog.com/ Sam @ Better With Sprinkles

Looks like you had a fabulous weekend! Dark chocolate covered marshmallows? I think I need those in my life. And so cool that someone bought your sushi. There are nice people left in the world!

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

In my DREAMS was he a hottie!! But oh no…the man who bought my sushi was definitely twice my age–if not more! Ha! Story of my life. ;) Happy Monday, doll!

  • http://beanafoodie.com/blog Maria Tadic

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Thanks, Maria! I hope you’re having a wonderful day!

  • http://glitzglamgranola.com/ Emily @ Glitz Glam Granola

How nice that the person in front of you bought your meal! Was it a guy and was he cute?? Your game night sounds like so much fun! Love that idea and even more so when sangria is involved- can’t wait to try that out! So glad too that you were able to enjoy the weekend and have lots of yummy things– sounds perfect! And wow that quote/mantra is powerful and amazing!

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

The man who bought my sushi was at leeeast 50+ years. Haha! I guess old/middle-aged men are the type of people who can afford to do that? Or they’re just creepy? Maybe both? Hehe

  • http://twitter.com/HealthyDiva31 HealthyDiva

I really LOVE this post!! So fun! I love you more though ;)

How awesome that guy paid for your sushi, there are good people in the world!

I need eppa in my life, can’t wait to have it again soon!

Beyonce killed it last night, loved it!!

Miss you and thanks for the wishes to my mom!

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Every time I drink Eppa, I think of you! It was you who I discovered it with this summer! Ahh, we need to have a sangria reunion once Baby G has popped out, k? Love you to pieces! Saying prayers for your mom! <3

  • http://twitter.com/painfreekitchen Rachel

Haha I’ve had Thrift Shop stuck in my head for a week! Need to learn all the words :)

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

It’s such a catchy song, isn’t it?! Happy Monday!

  • http://lisalately.com/ Lisa

Wine and sangria is always fun:) So is this post, I heart it.
I read spirit junkie! It’s a good one! You definitely have to have an open mind to all that stuff though.
Aw, how sweet of the person in front of you to buy your meal! I love when those things happen!
Yep, I spent 0 hours working out the whole weekend, and it felt surprisingly good:)
    Love YOU!

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Isn’t it SO nice to take a complete break from the gym on the weekends? I treasure those days! I hope you’re having an amazing day, darlin! <3

  • http://redletterdayeblog.wordpress.com/ Cassie @RedLetterDaye

2- Number of concerts attended this weekend. Also number of brunch outtings that were had.
1- First trips finally made to my local Trader Joe’s (yesterday during the Superbowl = having the place basically to myself, score!)
0-Number of quarters of the super bowl watched. I did see Jennifer Hudson’s performance which was beautiful. Gotta youtube Beyonce ASAP.

I spent the weekend in NYC, and ate out at every meal. Sometimes experiencing life is more important than clean eating ALL the time- and my wasit line didn’t seem to be affected- could’ve been all the walking tho ;) The best by far though was the Karee Curry Chicken at Yum Yum, Too. So delicious!

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

It sounds like you had an amazing weekend, Cassie! I can’t wait to read ALL about it. :D And amen to kicking back and *enjoying* good food–especially in cities like New York, where there’s lots of it! Hope you’re having a wonderful day!

  • http://www.runningwithspoons.com/ Amanda @ .running with spoons.

I absolutely love random acts of kindness like that! Nothing can make a day quite like a stranger doing something nice for you :D

It’s great to hear that you had such a good weekend, hun, and that you were really able to enjoy every minute of it without having to deal with more than 55 seconds of nasty guilt :) I spent Sunday night at my parents’ place pretending to watch the Superbowl, and while we didn’t have any any traditional game day snacks laying around, Mom made a slow cooker stew that was out of this world delicious. I wouldn’t have minded chasing that with some sangria and chocolate-covered marshmallows, though ;)

Hope your week is off to an awesome start! <3

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Nothing beats a home-cooked meal made by mom! So happy that you were able to enjoy time with your parents Sunday night, Amanda. <3 Happy Monday!

  • http://www.alattelearn.com/ Amanda @ A Latte Learn

I love the numbers format of this post! so cute. I’m glad to see someone else addicted to Thrift Shop. That’s my current run song on repeat! haha

    • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

Thanks, Amanda! Thrift Shop is my current workout song of choice, too. I need to start limiting the number of times I listen to it each day, though; I’m sensing a burnout soon. ;)

  • http://www.nourish-and-flourish.net Sara Stewart

I’ve heard such great things about Spirit Junkie; I’m glad you enjoyed it! I have a feeling May Cause Miracles will come next. :) Happy Monday, Danielle!

It is truly marvelous that someone paid for you meal. It is so cool when people do that. I would love to be able to do the same for someone!

That hummus sounds great. I know what I’ll be looking for the next time that I am at TJ’s….

And um, those chocolate chip peanut butter cup cookies should probably be a sin to make and eat..they look WAY too good and addicting! ;)

  • Nadja

Your Whole Foods story happened to me once: a guy paid for my order at Starbucks. I was like “:O wouhouuuuuuu”
And i’m totally the same with that “Thrift shop” song, can’t stop listening to it :)

  • http://twitter.com/FitSwissChick Lucie Pfaendler

Oh I love this number post! So glad you only spent a few seconds on regretting the treats. Cause they look SO good. Well, you know what my favorite food was that weekend – White Reese’s!! :-) And that guy paying for your meal?? That is really cool&kind.
I am jealous that you did your laundry. Mine is piling up and the more I try to ignore the tower the bigger it seems to get. Damn! :-)
    Have a fab week, gorgeous!!

  • http://jessielovestorun.wordpress.com/ Jessiejoshua21

So those were the chocolate chip pb cookies you spoke over on my page… oh man, I don’t know how you resisted to only 3. I’m about 90% sure I would’ve tried to indulge in the whole tray of them. They just look so gooey and so perfect!!

  • http://www.optimistichealth.com/ Carley @OptimisticHealth

Loving your numbers girl! That hummus looks marvelous. My weekend numbers are ONE awesome weekend with a great friend, ONE amazing hike just taking a moment to step away from everyday life and about 25 amazing meals :)

Glad to hear you had a great weekend!!

Ugh, I can only do like 10 real push ups at a time…8 without taking a couple of seconds to catch my breath and bully myself into getting in 2 more! Lol Love your fierce face! Get it girl!

That is one of my favorite hummuses! I used to buy it all the time before I discovered the horseradish one…mmm, so good! And speaking of so good, omg, I can only imagine how good those little peanut butter cup cookies were! YUM!
